Madrid Euro Soccer Academy Featured in Newsweek Español
At Madrid Euro Soccer Academy, we aim to help every individual reach their full potential and become the best soccer player they can be. In line with our holistic approach, this means not only being a responsible, skilled player on the field, but showing maturity and character off it. In a recent interview with Newsweek en Español, our player, Leonardo, proudly demonstrated the strength, discipline, and mindset we strive to instill at MESA.
This media feature doesn’t just highlight Leonardo’s talent—it showcases who he is as a person. We’re incredibly proud of the discipline, determination, and dedication he displayed throughout the interview.
The Commitment Required to be the Best
In “Leonardo Flores: Discipline, Courage, and Passion on the Road to Professional Football,” Leonardo talks about his progress since arriving in Spain, and how the international competitive environment and world-class training he has received have shaped him as an aspiring professional.
“In football and in life, one must trust in their preparation, have courage, and be consistent with what they say and do,” Leonardo shared. He sees soccer not only as a sport, but as a way to strengthen one’s mindset and resilience—a philosophy we exemplify at MESA.
A midfielder, Leonardo also plays for C.D. Alameda E.M.F. in the Liga Nacional Juvenil. Playing in this league has exposed him to the region’s top youth teams, pushing him to improve through every match. This exposure to elite competition is key as he strives to move up the Spanish football pyramid.
Playing at the Madrid Easter Cup
A personal highlight, Leonardo noted, was being named MESA’s captain in the Madrid Easter Cup—recognition of his tactical maturity, natural leadership, and ability to represent his team before professional coaches and scouts.
Leonardo called that experience a turning point: “That's when I understood that football isn't just played with your feet, it's also played with your mind and your heart. The confidence of my teammates motivated me to take on the challenge of being a leader and to grow as a player and as a person,” he said.
How MESA Sets Itself Apart
Newsweek en Español also captured what makes MESA unique: a complete immersion in Spanish football, mirroring the disciplined, structured, and world-class environment of professional clubs. They emphasized the unique value of MESA’s Immersion Program, which gives aspiring players firsthand experience in the intensity and demands of Spanish competition.
“MESA doesn’t only form football players, but also players prepared to lead, compete, and inspire. Its mission is to help each player become their best version, on and off the field. It prepares players not only for the next level of football, but for life,” they said.
