In “How Total Spanish Immersion Gives Soccer Players the Extra Edge,” Julio writes about the advantages of training in Madrid, and the specific ways MESA’s short-term programs supplement elite player development. “Playing soccer in Spain gives players something they don’t consistently receive back home: training under leading coaches, immersion in football culture, and exposure to the standards of elite Spanish youth development,” Julio wrote.

In addition to being licensed UEFA-Pro Coaches, MESA’s staff has firsthand experience developing top-tier talent at clubs like Real Madrid, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Rayo Vallecano. Julio emphasized how in Spain, training starts young. With children as young as five often already attached to a local academy, the country has developed a strong, competitive youth system that consistently produces world-class players.
